Benghazi is preparing to launch the city’s reconstruction ceremony scheduled to be held, tomorrow, Sunday, in the Suleiman Al-Darrat Sports Complex.
Benghazi Municipality said in a statement today that the ceremony is part of the programs to celebrate the city of Benghazi as the capital of culture in the Islamic world for the year 2024.
The celebrations of Benghazi as the capital of culture in the Islamic world, shed light on the various cultural and heritage aspects of the city, especially those related to Islamic civilization, its influential history, and the deeds and arts it presented.
Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hammad had previously authorized the launch of activities to celebrate Benghazi as the capital of culture in the Islamic world, during his participation, last December, in celebrations commemorating the 72nd anniversary of Libya’s Independence.
The celebration includes artistic and cultural activities, including plays, festivals of Libyan songs, Malouf, Muwashahat, and religious chanting, cinematic events, book and fine arts exhibitions, folklore performances, and intellectual seminars in which representatives of Arab and Islamic countries participate.
