Libya’s first municipality-led business hub, the Tripoli Business Hub, officially opened on Sunday, offering startups and small businesses resources to grow, create jobs, and support economic recovery, according to UN Development Program (UNDP).
Led by the Tripoli Centre Municipality with backing from the EU, Italy, and UNDP, the hub provides co-working spaces, mentorship, networking, and training—prioritizing youth, women, and returnees.
Officials highlighted its role in economic diversification and stability. Mayor Ibrahim Alkhalify called it a space for youth creativity, while UNDP’s Mohammed Salih stressed entrepreneurship’s role in recovery. The hub, designed by local female engineers, reflects inclusive development and is part of broader efforts to strengthen Libya’s local economy.
