The Libyan writer and political analyst, Abd al-Rahim al-Burki, said the Turkish Intelligence Chief, Hakan Fidan, on his visit to Tripoli on Tuesday, made a political reconciliation deal between Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, Head of the outgoing Government of National Unity (GNU), and Khaled al-Mishri, Head of the High Council of State (HCS).
Al-Burki tweeted: “In the absence of the national will of the Libyan political leaders, the Chief of the Turkish Intelligence was able to make a political reconciliation deal between al-Mishri and Dbeibeh, two days after the conclusion of the reconciliation conference that was organized and supervised by the Presidential Council.”
He added: “We are for brotherly reconciliation, whatever it may be, but we are not for political maneuvering to stay in power.”
