U.S. military delegation has held “productive discussions” in Tripoli with military officials from western Libya, according to U.S. Embassy in Libya.
“During their visit this week to Tripoli, U.S. Defense Attaché and his accompanying delegation had productive discussions with Chief of the General Staff Gen. Mohamed al-Haddad, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Salah al-Din al-Namroush, Ground Forces Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Al-Fitori Ghribil, Navy Chief of Staff Rear Adm. Nureddin Elbuni, and brigade-level commanders at various military installations,” the Embassy said in a statement.
“The United States will continue to engage parties in all regions of #Libya to support efforts to promote enduring peace and security, unify and professionalize the Libyan military, and safeguard Libyan sovereignty,” the statement pointed out.
