UN Envoy to Libya Hannah Tetteh has held a meeting with the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The meeting focused on the political situation in Libya and the necessity to move forward to general elections as soon as possible, according to UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
SRSG Tetteh briefed Aboul Gheit on her recent meetings and solicited the support of the League of Arab States to advance the political process.
She also discussed the regional situation and its impact on Libya, UNSMIL said in a statement.
Aboul Gheit expressed the support of the League of Arab States to UNSMIL to facilitate the holding of general elections.
