The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) “warmly” welcomed today the meeting that took place yesterday between military leaders of eastern and western Libya.
General Abdel-Razek Al-Nadori, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), and General Mohammed Al-Hadad, the leader of military forces in west of the country, met for the first time in Sirte yesterday.
They reportedly discussed the reunification of the country’s military institution and removal of foreign forces.
“The Mission encourages all sides to take further concrete steps towards unifying state institutions, including military and security institutions,” the UNSMIL said in a tweet.
