The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) met yesterday with members of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) from western Libya. Discussions centered on upholding the Ceasefire Agreement and progressing mine action efforts.
According to a UNSMIL statement, the 5+5 JMC reiterated its commitment to collaborate with the UN mission. A key focus of the talks was on strengthening the capacity of the Military Engineering Department to facilitate the clearance of explosive ordnance within the ceasefire agreement area and other affected regions.
