US hails reopening of Libya’s coastal road as “significant”

TRIPOLI – The U.S. Embassy in Libya has welcomed on Sunday the reopening of the coastal road linking the western and eastern parts of Libya.

Describing the event as “significant”, the embassy pointed out the reopening comes as t”he international community prepares to meet in Berlin”.

“Libyans and foreign powers alike should focus on encouraging stability through acts like allowing this road to remain open and paving the path for Libyans to have full control over their own affairs, including elections in December,” the U.S. embassy stated on Twitter.
