Libya is missing out on the opportunity to generate revenues of $60 million a day against the backdrop of the closure of oil fields and ports, said Richard Norland, the U.S. Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya.
In an interview with Libyan broadcaster Al-Wasat on Thursday night, the American diplomat stressed that “what is happening is not only against the interest of Libya, but it is not in the interest of the global energy market”.
“I do not describe what is happening as a crisis, rather as a missed opportunity for Libya that should have benefited from rising oil prices in the global market,” Norland clarified.
