Sebha – The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, participated today in the official celebration of the 61st anniversary of the establishment of the police force in Libya, which was held at the People’s Hall in the city of Sebha.
The celebration ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, Dr. Osama Hammad, the Minister of Interior, Major General Essam Bouzriba, along with an elite group of senior security agency leaders and a number of armed forces commanders.
During his speech on the occasion, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar praised the vital role and great sacrifices made by members of the police force to protect the security of citizens and preserve the country’s stability. He commended the efforts made by security personnel in their various directorates and departments to maintain public order and enforce the law.
The Deputy Commander-in-Chief also affirmed the armed forces’ firm commitment to supporting and developing the police apparatus. He stressed the continuation of support to enhance the efficiency of police cadres through advanced training and qualification programs, work on improving the infrastructure of headquarters and security facilities, in addition to expanding the establishment of specialized police academies and institutes. He noted that these efforts aim to ensure the highest levels of readiness among police personnel to enable them to perform their national duties to the fullest.
