Tripoli – The South Tripoli Public Order Prosecutor has launched an investigation into cases involving the use and sale of banned agricultural pesticides within the Al-Sawani municipality. Authorities uncovered a number of serious violations during their inquiry.
Investigators identified 15 individuals involved in trading banned pesticides. Field operations led to the seizure of approximately 300 containers of illegal pesticides, in addition to 440 containers of expired but non-banned substances.
The suspects were questioned by the prosecutor’s office and have been remanded in custody pending further investigation. Authorities also ordered the closure of 60 shops implicated in the sale of prohibited pesticides.
These actions are part of ongoing efforts by the public prosecutor to combat environmental and health violations and to protect public safety.
