Benghazi – The Faculty of Arts at the University of Benghazi, Sunday, discussed a master’s thesis in the Department of Psychology by student Rania Mohammed Abdul Hamid, titled: “The Effectiveness of a Selective Counseling Program Based on Supporting Positive Traits to Reduce Anxiety in Breast Cancer Patients at the Benghazi Medical Center.”
The defense committee was composed of Dr. Aida Mansour Saleh (Supervisor), Dr. Najma Issa Saeed (Internal Examiner), and Dr. Huda Ibrahim Boukhamada (External Examiner).
The committee praised the thesis, considering it an important scientific and practical addition to the field of psychological support for patients, especially for the counseling program’s demonstrated effectiveness in reducing patients’ anxiety levels.
In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, the student expressed her gratitude, saying: “I dedicate this success to every patient who resists with her strong will, and I hope my work contributes to providing real psychological support during their treatment journey.”
This thesis is part of the scientific trend toward focusing on the mental health of cancer patients and enhancing their quality of life through specialized therapeutic programs.
