The new Libyan government, headed by Fathi Bashagha, was sworn in before the House of Representatives on Thursday.
The legal oath was taken in the presence of 92 HoR deputies, where most of the government ministers took the legal oath, while the rest were unable to attend because they were threatened, banned from travel and kidnapped, as confirmed by Bashagha.
HoR called on the Government of National Unity, led by Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, to hand over its duties in a democratic manner to the new government, to carry out its duties from the capital, Tripoli.
HoR expressed its dissatisfaction with the kidnapping of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the new government, as well as the Minister of Culture, and the shooting of government ministers to prevent them by force from reaching Tobruk to take the legal oath before HoR.
The House demanded the Public Prosecutor to open an urgent investigation into what happened to the ministers.
