House of Representatives monitors the outbreak of Newcastle Disease in poultry farms

Benghazi – The media spokesman for the Agricultural Police Department, Brigadier General Adel Ebridan, affirmed the department’s commitment to public health and safety. He clarified a recent circular on poultry. It applies only to live poultry. This is a precautionary measure. It protects farms and livestock. The circular does not include slaughtered chicken or eggs sold in markets.

Ebridan explained this to Al-Anbaa Al-Libiya newspaper. Slaugthered chicken with the environmental health stamp is 100% safe. It undergoes strict veterinary supervision. It can be consumed without worry. He confirmed the disease is not zoonotic. It does not transmit to humans. It poses no threat to public health. Eggs and other poultry products are also safe for consumption.

The spokesman highlighted extensive coordination. The Agricultural Police Department, Municipal Guard, environmental health offices, and animal health offices are actively involved. They ensure only officially approved and stamped products reach markets.

Ebridan concluded by reassuring citizens. He urged them to buy products with the official stamp. Citizen safety is a top priority for all competent authorities, he stressed.
