Al-Ismailia – Dr. Fadwa Al-Faidi concluded her field visit to Egypt. She is the Head of the Health Institutions Accreditation and Monitoring Authority. She reviewed the procedures and standards adopted in Egyptian health facilities. Dr. Al-Faidi affirmed the Egyptian experience is an important model. It can be utilized to develop the accreditation and oversight system in Libya. It can also enhance the quality of health services.
The field visit included several hospitals and health facilities in Al-Ismailia Governorate. These included Al-Ismailia Medical Complex and Sheikh Zayed Family Medicine Center. The Head of the Authority reviewed work mechanisms and service delivery systems. She also assessed adherence to quality and patient safety standards. She learned about hospital preparation and qualification programs. She observed the training of medical and administrative staff on quality and accreditation standards. Digital transformation efforts were also noted. These efforts improved performance efficiency. They also enhanced the level of health services.
The visit aimed to benefit from the Egyptian experience in hospital management and operation. This is within the comprehensive health insurance system. It also aimed to transfer best practices. This will develop Libya’s accreditation and oversight system. This will achieve the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
