Benghazi – The Benghazi Municipal Council hosted an extensive meeting Thursday. It included the Mayor of Benghazi. Representatives from several municipalities in eastern and southern Libya also attended. A delegation from the German GIZ Foundation was present.
Osama Al-Majbari, the municipality’s media office director, explained the meeting was a follow-up. It built on an initial gathering between GIZ and newly elected municipal councils. These councils are located in eastern and southern Libya.
Today’s meeting discussed joint cooperation mechanisms. Discussions focused on several vital sectors. These included renewable energy and primary healthcare. Support for sustainable development was also a topic. The meeting also reviewed current projects implemented by GIZ. These projects are in various municipalities. They cover waste management, primary healthcare, and renewable energy. Programs supporting youth and women were also highlighted.
Participating municipalities sent representatives to Benghazi. These included Al-Bayda, Shahhat, Tobruk, Brega, Ajdabiya, Awjila, Jalo, and Ajkhara.
