Kazan – The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) organized a media forum. It collaborated with the Tatmedia agency. The “Russia – Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group also partnered in the event. The forum was held as part of the Kazan Forum 2026 activities.
The forum was titled “Symbol of Heritage: Digital Evolution of Meanings.” It drew wide participation from media representatives. Attendees came from Islamic countries and Russia. Discussions focused on the future of media. This included rapid technological advancements. A key topic was artificial intelligence (AI) impact on content creation. Ethical and social challenges related to AI use were also addressed. Practical AI applications in newsrooms were demonstrated.
UNA Director General Mohammed bin Abd Rabbo Al-Yami affirmed the Union’s participation. He stated it stemmed from a commitment to enhance media cooperation. This cooperation is between Islamic nations and the Russian Federation. UNA also aims to anticipate the future of media and communication. Al-Yami highlighted UNA’s interest in using AI technologies. This use will develop media operations and train journalists. Journalists will learn diverse AI applications.
Al-Yami explained the partnership between UNA and Russian media. He said it supported media dialogue and cultural rapprochement. He confirmed UNA’s resolve to expand cooperation areas. This expansion will serve sustainable development. It will also foster understanding between the peoples of the Islamic world and Russia.
