Al-Barghathi on List of 99 Leading Arab Women, Represents Libya in Amman

Amman – Aisha Al-Barghathi, Head of the Women’s Committee of the Arab Youth Union, has been chosen to represent Libya on the “99 Women” list of the most influential in the Arab world and to participate in the 15th International Conference for Leading and Entrepreneurial Women. The conference, themed “The Power of Influence Towards Leading Change – Women, the Renaissance of a Nation,” will be held in the Jordanian capital with the participation of an elite group of Arab women leaders and experts.

Al-Barghathi’s selection to the International Relations and Diplomacy Committee comes in recognition of her outstanding contributions in the fields of education, community empowerment, and strengthening the role of women in the diplomatic and regional arena.

The conference aims to promote the concepts of female entrepreneurship and leadership, exchange successful experiences, and empower women in decision-making positions through panel discussions, workshops, and honoring pioneering women figures.

The conference activities will take place during the second half of September 2025, amidst extensive media coverage, with recommendations to be submitted to regional and international bodies concerned with women’s issues.

In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, Al-Barghathi said: “This comprehensive Arab movement for women leaders highlights the potential of Arab women in various fields.”

Al-Barghathi continued, “My participation in the International Relations and Diplomacy Committee represents a great responsibility and an opportunity to enhance the presence of Libyan women in international forums and to build bridges of cooperation between the women of the region for a more just and cooperative future.” She noted that she participated with a working paper titled “The Role of Leading and Entrepreneurial Women in International Relations and Diplomacy.”

The paper includes several key themes, most importantly (Leading Women in International Relations, The Role of Entrepreneurial Women in Diplomacy, and Challenges, Opportunities, and Recommendations to Enhance the Role of Women in International Relations and Diplomacy).

Al-Barghathi praised the organizing committee for this trust, dedicating this achievement to every Libyan woman leading change in her community. She affirmed that the conference is one of the most prominent regional platforms celebrating women changemakers, with the participation of leading figures from ministries, official bodies, civil society organizations, and entrepreneurs in the Arab world.
