Al-Buwanis Municipal Council Discusses Service Projects to Improve Infrastructure

Al-Buwanis – The Wadi Al-Buwanis Municipal Council held its third regular meeting of 2026, discussing a range of service, development, and investment issues affecting residents and aiming to improve local services.

The meeting reviewed the road maintenance project connecting Sabha municipality and the Al-Zeghen area. Council members emphasized its importance for improving transportation and regional connectivity. They also addressed obstacles facing the project and discussed mechanisms for completing it according to approved plans.

The council considered equipping government facilities, especially key service sites, with solar power systems. This step is part of an effort to expand the use of renewable energy and reduce reliance on traditional sources. The possibility of establishing a solar power generation station and its impact on grid stability was also discussed.

The meeting examined the condition of the public power grid, including transport and distribution lines, regular maintenance work, and the replacement of damaged utility poles to improve efficiency and reduce repeated outages.

Council members also reviewed the state of public sanitation services and the ongoing efforts to upgrade them. They discussed budget allocations to ensure service continuity and improve local environmental standards.

The meeting also explored available development and investment projects within the municipality. The council focused on supporting industrial investment to create new jobs and boost sustainable local development.

In closing, the municipal council stressed the need for continued coordination with relevant authorities, monitoring project implementation, and addressing existing challenges to meet citizens’ needs and enhance service quality in Wadi Al-Buwanis.
