Tripoli – Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh held a meeting on Sunday. He met with Masoud Suleiman, Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC). They discussed updates on the oil sector’s performance. Key topics included revenues and fuel supply. Human resources development plans were also reviewed.
Suleiman provided a comprehensive briefing. It covered the full transfer of February oil sales revenues to the public treasury. This marks the first time in years such a transfer occurred without deductions. The transferred amount exceeded two billion dollars. He also reviewed the local fuel supply situation. He affirmed stable and sufficient supplies. This stability holds despite global crisis repercussions. No shortages have been reported.
Regarding technical matters, Dbeibeh was briefed. Maintenance work on the Sharara oil field export line in the Murzuq region is complete. Operations and production have returned to normal. This work was fully executed by national cadres.
The NOC Chairman revealed significant improvement in production rates. Production reached approximately 1.43 million barrels per day. This is the highest level recorded in over ten years. He noted that stable and increased production depends on power grid stability. It also relies on enhancing the efficiency of production lines.
The presentation covered the NOC’s participation in the Egypt International Energy Conference and Exhibition (EGYPS). It also included the CERAWeek global conference. Meetings were held with international companies and foreign partners. These aimed to enhance cooperation in the energy sector.
The meeting also discussed integrating oil specialization graduates. Dbeibeh approved a new employment mechanism. It involves opening registration and forming a specialized committee. This committee will align with the sector’s needs. Urgent operational budget requirements were also reviewed. This aims to ensure continuous production.
The Prime Minister praised oil sector employees. He commended their competence and national role. He affirmed the government’s special appreciation for their efforts. These efforts maintain production stability. They also support the national economy.
