Ali Al-Hibri, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), denied that he had announced the CBL Board of Directors approval to open the clearing operations between banks.
Al-Hibri stressed, in a statement to the Libyan Sada economic newspaper, that this news was not true at all.
Clearing operations are not opened especially for the banks of eastern Libya, Cyrenaica, that have been suffering a cash liquidity crisis for years.
