Chadian President Mohamed Idriss Déby welcomed Libyan Prime Minister Dr. Osama Hamad and his delegation at the Presidential Palace in N’Djamena on Friday. The leaders discussed enhancing security cooperation, particularly at the shared borders, and combating illegal migration and organized crime, with Chadian appreciation expressed for Libya’s logistical support under Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
A key focus of the discussions was the implementation of a proposed international road linking Libya, Chad, and Egypt. President Déby and Prime Minister Hamad also reviewed the outcomes of recent ministerial talks and agreed on the importance of strengthening economic ties, including through the Sirte Free Zone (SFZ), which is seen as a crucial trade link for the region.
Prime Minister Hamad emphasized Libya’s commitment to fostering cooperation on sustainable development and implementing existing agreements. He also highlighted Libya’s efforts to modernize its infrastructure and promote partnerships through projects like the SFZ, the Sirte International Seaport, and direct air links between N’Djamena, Benghazi, and Sirte.
