Al-Hwaij emphasizes the importance of modern diplomatic qualification and Benghazi is the starting point

Wednesday, May 6, 2026 National 2 Mins Read
Benghazi - Foreign Minister Abdulhadi Al-Hwaij participated on Tuesday in the graduation ceremony for the second batch of the Institute of Diplomatic Studies in Benghazi. During his speech, the Minister emphasized that this step is a vital milestone in preparing young diplomatic talents. He noted that it follows a modern institutional vision to build a professional diplomatic apparatus. The Foreign Minister stated that the graduation of this second batch marks a pivotal moment in rehabilitating the diplomatic corps. He pointed out that this event launches a modern institutional training path. This path is the first of its kind in decades outside traditional frameworks. He explained that the ministry operates according to a vision responsive to rapid international shifts. It focuses on building competencies capable of understanding power balances and managing negotiations. These skills use modern tools of influence to enhance the state's presence in regional and international forums. This approach serves strategic interests with efficiency and capability. The Minister highlighted that choosing Benghazi for this institution reflects its historical status. It also shows its central role in supporting state institutions. He emphasized that the institute's branch serves as a platform for qualifying talent through decentralization and equal opportunity. He added that the ministry is expanding this project by opening a new branch in Sabha. This will strengthen the institution's presence in the south. It will also allow youth from various regions to join the diplomatic path. He considered this expansion part of an integrated vision to build a balanced diplomatic apparatus. This apparatus reflects national diversity and meets current requirements. The Foreign Minister stressed that diplomacy is a national responsibility beyond just a job. He urged graduates to demonstrate competence, integrity, and commitment. He called on them to work with a national spirit that prioritizes the country's interests. He praised supporting institutions, academic frameworks, and the families of the graduates for the success of this path. He officially named the graduates the "Omar Al-Mukhtar Batch" to immortalize values of struggle and resilience. He concluded by confirming that this batch represents a new start for modern diplomacy. This diplomacy is based on professionalism and openness. It reinforces the principle that the homeland remains the unifying compass.
