Tripoli – Member of Parliament Ali Al-Tekbali said the American peace initiative marks the start of a potential path toward a comprehensive political solution in Libya, leading to elections after years of instability and division.
Al-Tekbali told Al-Masar TV that the General Command’s support for the U.S. proposal shows a belief that any successful settlement must have the agreement of influential forces on the ground.
He added that American involvement in Libya’s crisis could help advance the political process and create the right conditions for a settlement that ends the deadlock and leads to elections.
