The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra on Friday to discuss “regional priorities”, including developments in Tunisia, Libya, and the Sahel, according to a statement by the U.S. State Department.
“They agreed on the need for a sovereign, stable, and unified Libya with no foreign interference,” reads the statement attributable to State Department spokesperson Ned Price.
“They also discussed Algeria’s efforts to diversify its economy and attract more U.S. business investment.”
