Member of the House of Representatives Saeed Amghib said that the State Council has turned into “Dbeibeh’s Council” to serve personal interests, considering that the amendment to the election roadmap “contains exclusionary political clauses and does not carry a spirit of consensus,” in statements to “Al-Masar” television.
Amghib added that “Dbeibeh is luring the majority of the Council with corrupt money and promises of positions.”
He considered that the insistence on these clauses could lead the country to “dangerous options such as partition,” noting that “popular discontent and the intransigence of Dbeibeh and the Council” make those options “open for discussion and supported on the ground.”
