An official with the Libyan Red Crescent revealed emergency and ambulance teams responded to several incidents. These urgent cases occurred during a storm and strong winds. The city of Benghazi and its surrounding areas were affected. Two deaths were reported among these cases.
Mohamed Wael is the Media and Communications Officer at the Benghazi office. He told the Libyan News Agency about the operations. The Libyan Red Crescent’s Central Operations Room continued its intensive field work within Benghazi. This aligns with their humanitarian and national duty. It is also part of their rapid response efforts to citizen reports. Emergency and ambulance teams dealt with numerous urgent reports.
According to the media official’s statement to WAL, the cases handled by the Red Crescent field teams included:
* A fire occurred inside Ghiyan Qariounes Mall. A case of fainting was transferred to the polyclinic.
* Poles fell near Sports City roundabout. The site was secured.
* A house wall fell behind Akhreibeish lighthouse. This resulted in the death of a young man. The body was transferred according to approved procedures.
* A natural death occurred in Al-Kish (Al-Sabala) area.
* A case of shortness of breath was transferred from Shabna area to Benghazi Medical Center.
* A tree fell in Al-Daqadousta area. It was removed from the main road.
* A sign fell near Al-Baraka Square. The site was secured.
* A girl died on Beirut Street due to a falling building wall.
* A pole fell near Al-Ahly Qariounes Club roundabout.
* A sign fell on a security officer on Tripoli Road. He was transported to receive first aid.
* A traffic accident occurred in Al-Salam neighborhood.
The media official concluded his statement to WAL. He affirmed the continued readiness of the Libyan Red Crescent’s Central Operations Room. It will maintain rapid response to all reports. It will also ensure continuous field presence to protect lives and serve citizens.
