Arkenu succeeds in extracting oil from complex wells using a technology for the first time in Libya

Benghazi – Libyan oil company Arkenu has announced a new milestone in oil innovation, marking the second successful deployment of its Agile ESP technology, in collaboration with its technical partner, at well HH-81.

The system was installed at a depth of 7,500 feet in a section with a high deviation exceeding 4 degrees—a first for Libya. This groundbreaking step involved placing an electric submersible pump (ESP) near the well’s horizontal re-entry point, overcoming a challenge that traditional systems could not meet.

Arkenu emphasized that this success was driven by its leadership’s vision and unwavering commitment to innovation. The company noted that this achievement follows its initial successful operation in well C-233 and is part of a broader strategy to increase productivity, reduce operational risks, and lower costs.
