The General Electricity Company announced the arrival of the generator for the first unit of the new South Tripoli gas power plant project at the Tripoli seaport, complete with all its technical accessories, in a step that paves the way for a new phase of the project’s implementation.
The company explained, in a brief statement, that preparations are currently underway to transport the generator to the plant site in preparation for starting installation work in the coming period, noting that technical and engineering teams are working to accelerate preparations to ensure the operational phase begins on schedule.
The South Tripoli gas power plant project includes four generation units with a total production capacity of about 1320 megawatts. It is considered one of the major strategic projects implemented by the General Electricity Company to support the stability of the public grid and cover the increasing demand for electrical energy in various regions of the country.
