The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Colonel General Saddam Haftar, announced the execution of the “Shield of Dignity 2” maneuver. He described it as the largest exercise in the history of the Libyan military. More than 25,000 soldiers from various military units participated in the drills.
Saddam Haftar said this maneuver followed the military’s hosting of the international exercise “Flintlock 2026” near Sirte. He added that the exercise confirms the high level of readiness achieved by the armed forces.
The Deputy Commander-in-Chief conveyed greetings from the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar. He noted that Field Marshal Haftar was honored to participate in this important national event.
He stated that the Commander-in-Chief praised all military units for their high readiness and discipline. He also commended their ability to execute various assigned missions.
The “Shield of Dignity 2” maneuver concluded on Tuesday under the supervision of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief. Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar and several military leaders attended the closing ceremony.
Field Marshal Haftar reviewed the progress of the maneuver from the air. He then watched the closing ceremony from the main platform.
Twenty-five thousand soldiers gathered before the platform with their commanders. Deputy Commander-in-Chief Colonel General Saddam Haftar then presented Field Marshal Haftar with the “Shield of Dignity 2” award.
The Commander-in-Chief greeted all participating soldiers. He praised their discipline, professionalism, and performance during the maneuver. He said their performance proved their readiness to protect and defend the nation against any threats.
Following the maneuver, the Commander-in-Chief, his deputy, and several military leaders flew back to Benghazi. National Security Advisor General Al-Nadori accompanied them on the flight.
Saddam Haftar stressed that military personnel reaffirm their steadfast national commitment to the unity of Libya. He stated they remain ready to make sacrifices for the Libyan people. He added that this honors the martyrs who secured the victory of the Dignity Revolution against terrorist organizations.
He noted that the Dignity Revolution ended years of division and fragmentation within the military and security institutions.
The Deputy Commander-in-Chief expressed his gratitude to all officers, soldiers, chiefs of staff, and participating units. He thanked them for their discipline and precision in executing tasks throughout the maneuver.
