Attempt to smuggle 74 illegal migrants south of the Al-Wahat area thwarted; they were traveling in two vehicles coming from the Chadian border

Al-Wahat – The Anti-Illegal Migration Agency in Al-Wahat, working with security and military forces, has foiled an attempt to smuggle 74 undocumented migrants deep into the desert south of the Al-Wahat region. The migrants were found traveling in two vehicles that had crossed the Chadian border.

According to a statement from the agency, officials detained 44 Chadian nationals and 30 Sudanese nationals after they entered through the Al-Kouri mining area within Chadian territory. All of the migrants have been transferred to the Al-Wahat detention center for legal processing and eventual deportation according to existing laws.

The agency said this operation is part of ongoing efforts to secure the southern borders, tighten control over desert routes, and combat migrant smuggling networks with the cooperation of other security and military agencies.
