Former Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha met with Italian ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Buccino in Tripoli where they “discussed the current political situation and the efforts of the international community to ensure the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections on time in accordance with the roadmap,” according to Bashagha.
“We also stressed Italy’s important role in motivating and helping political bodies to fulfill their commitments to the holding of elections on December 24, as the main way to achieve full stability and promote lasting peace in Libya,” Bashagha tweeted.
