Italy and France endorse the formation of a unified Libyan government as a “precondition for successful elections”, revealed Prime Minister-designate Fathi Bashagha on Thursday.
His remarks came following a meeting with Italian and French diplomat during which they affirmed commitment to “work together to strengthen relations between our great nations and realize our common interests,” Bashagha stated via Twitter.
“I have thanked both Italy and France for publicly supporting the stability and security of our country and the holding of presidential and legislative elections,” he said. “I also appreciate their endorsement of a unified Libyan government as a precondition for successful elections.”
“I also made clear that, under my leadership, peace, stability, and elections will remain my top priorities as set forth in my roadmap tp recovery,” concluded the premier.
