Fathi Bashagha, Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, welcomed the joint statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Morocco on Libya.
Bashagha praised the efforts made by Egypt and Morocco to resolve the Libyan crisis and bring views closer. He indicated that the government is looking forward to more supportive statements regionally and internationally.
Bashagha said that the legislative and advisory bodies in Libya were able, in consultation with several parties, to reach a Libyan-Libyan agreement. He added that this is what we must build on at this stage in order to reach simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections, in addition to protecting the country’s wealth and resources.
The Foreign Minister of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, and Egypt, Sameh Shoukry, discussed in Rabat the latest developments in the Libyan crisis.
They renewed their countries’ support for the established principle that the Libyan-Libyan dialogue without any dictates or external interference is the only way to resolving the crisis, leading to holding presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya simultaneously.
