Bashagha’s government authorizes anti-corruption protest in Benghazi next Friday

Sunday, September 25, 2022 Uncategorized 1 Min Read
Bashagha: We exited Tripoli after clashes and will start working from Sirte

The government of Fathi Bashagha, designated by the House of Representatives, has authorized permit for an anti-corruption protest in Benghazi next Friday, September 30.

This comes in light of the public release of an audit report by Libyan Audit Bureau, which documents misuse of public funds by the Tripoli-based government led by Bashagha’s rival Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh in 2021.

Dbeibeh’s government had refused to give permit to a similar protest, which was scheduled to take place in Tripoli last Friday.
