Bank of Commerce and Development (BCD) issued a statement denouncing the false news published by the Government of National Unity, which claimed that building Benina International Airport Terminal in Benghazi was one of GNU’s achievements within its “Return of Life” project.
BCD said the project of the terminal was contracted to be achieved during the period of the former Interim Government, led by Abdulla al-Thani, in 2019 with BOT system (Build Operate Transfer), under an investment contract between BCD and the Ministry of Transportation.
The Bank said GNU published on “Hokumitna” platform that the terminal was one of the government’s projects, without mentioning the implementing agency or the investor, and attributing this great edifice to government projects.
BCD demanded the government agency responsible for spreading these lies to verify the authenticity of the information and its source before publishing it to the Libyan people and to apologize to those involved in this important strategic project for the city of Benghazi in particular and for Libya in general.
