The Head of the Steering Council of Benghazi Municipality, Saqr Imran Bujwari, held a meeting with the Head of the Supervisory Committee for the Activation of Electronic Payment Services, Munim Al-Saiti, the Head of the Municipal Guard in the government of Osama Hammad, Major General Abdulmonem Al-Mahshesh, and the Secretary of the Council, Abdulbasit Al-Badri. This was part of the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Resolution No. (135) for the year 2025 regarding the activation of electronic payment services in revenue-collecting government agencies.
Benghazi Municipality confirmed it has begun implementing the resolution, making it one of the first municipalities to adopt the electronic payment system for financial transactions within its affiliated revenue-collecting agencies, in a step aimed at facilitating procedures for citizens and increasing the efficiency of financial collection.
The municipality clarified that this move is part of supporting digital transformation and enhancing transparency in municipal work, in line with the Libyan government’s vision to develop public services and improve the quality of financial and administrative performance in local institutions.
