Outgoing Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh met on Wednesday with Khaled Al-Mishri, chairman of the High Council of State, in Tripoli to discuss the delayed elections, according to a statement by the council.
The two underscored the importance of holding elections with Dbeibeh expressing appreciation for “the council’s position on this regard”.
Both Dbeibeh and Al-Mishri refuse to acknowledge to the new government of Prime Minister-designate Fathi Bashagha, which was given vote of confidence from the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
