Foreign Minister of the Libyan outgoing Government of National Unity (GNU), Najla Elmangoush, arrived in Slovakia Wednesday to follow up through the embassy on the evacuation of Libyans leaving Ukraine.
Elmangoush directed to solve the obstacles and difficulties before the repatriation committee, assuring the members of the Libyan community that the embassy would provide them with all capabilities to bring them back home safely, according to the Foreign Ministry statement.
The statement indicated that the Minister will supervise the arrival of the first evacuation plane, carrying about 170 citizens, and that the other batches will follow successively.
It is noteworthy that GNU Head, Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh issued instructions last Saturday to secure the return of the Libyan community in Ukraine, coinciding with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
