Dbeibeh: Election train has set off and will not stop

Dbeibeh: Election train has set off and will not stop

Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh, said he would not allow an “extension conspiracy,” announcing a plan to launch the electoral process next June.

Dbeibeh added, Monday at the cabinet meeting, “We will not mortgage our future to any parties seeking to extend for themselves. The election train has set off, and we will not mortgage our future to those who lost their national eligibility and disrupted the elections.”

Dbeineh said he decided to form a legal committee headed by the Minister of Justice to prepare a legal proposal for the elections.

He announced the allocation of 2.5 billion dinars to municipalities, according to a proposal by the Minister of Local Governance. He pointed out that “his two deputies will supervise its distribution.”

The Prime minister had announced his refusal to the Parliament’s resolution on designating a new prime minister to form a new government, stressing that his government would remain in power until the presidential and parliamentary elections.
