Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, issued an executive order on Tuesday, which authorizes the formation of a special ministerial committee to follow-up on the preparations for the national elections in December.
According to a statement by the government, the committee is tasked with “coordination between the various institutions to support and implement the elections, and to coordinate with the High National Elections Commission and provide all facilities to it.”
The committee would also “contribute to the preparation of a government media center that supervises the media support for the elections”.
In addition, the committee would periodically report to the prime minister on its work.
