Libya’s outgoing prime minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh welcomed on Friday the statement of five western countries, which emphasized the need for dialogue between Libyan parties in order to hold presidential and parliamentary elections “as soon as possible”.
Dbeibeh viewed that the statement is “in line” with the government’s plan to hold elections next June.
Similarly, outgoing Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush also backed the the statement which she said it serves to “support stability and peace in Libya through fair and transparent elections and a consensual constitutional basis.”
