Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh, launched Saturday, the “Plant a Tree” project in Tripoli, to protect the environment, according to Dbeibeh’s Media Center.
The project aims to plant one million seedlings of fruit and ornamental trees throughout Libya, and to encourage a spirit of volunteerism and initiative among young people in order to protect the environment.
The campaign has already started its work in several cities, the Center said in a statement.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Youth.
