Sirte – Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa, inspected the sites of the company implementing the two expansion projects for the eastern and western roads of the city of Sirte. Both are part of the international highway within the National Link Project, with each road extending for a distance of fifty kilometers.
During his field tour, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa reviewed the implementation stages and completion rates of the two projects, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the specified timelines and stressing the need to observe quality and precision standards in the work to ensure improved traffic flow on these vital roads.
It is noteworthy that the National Link Project, being implemented by the National Development Agency, includes the rehabilitation, development, and construction of a new international highway with global standards, connecting several major Libyan cities, including Ajdabiya and Sirte. It extends from Ajdabiya to Kufra through the oases, and from Sirte to Sokna, then to Sabha, reaching Wadi Al-Toum in the far south, with a total estimated distance of about 2,500 kilometers.
