Al-Khums – The Public Prosecutor has ordered the detention of a civil registry employee at the Awlad Ali office in Al-Khums and eight beneficiaries on charges of forging official documents that granted citizenship rights unlawfully.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation examined cases of civil status document forgery under the jurisdiction of the Al-Khums Court of Appeal. Authorities launched the inquiry following reports of forgery at the city’s Awlad Ali civil registry office.
The preliminary investigation confirmed that three official documents were forged. These documents allowed eight individuals to unlawfully obtain citizenship rights.
The prosecution directed the suspension of all administrative records based on the forged documents. Authorities will also track down any proceeds resulting from the crime and will take legal action accordingly.
