Benghazi – Engineer Abu Al-Qasim Haftar announced a new project. He is the Director-General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund. The project aims to reconstruct the Sabri and Al-Bilad areas. These areas are located in Benghazi.
The Fund Director made this announcement today, Sunday. It followed his meeting with the Reconstruction, Inventory, and Compensation Committees. The Dean of Benghazi Municipality attended the meeting. Also present were the Director of Public Property Service and the Director of Urban Planning Service.
The Director of the Real Estate Registry was there. The Sabri Reconstruction Committee also participated. The Fund Director urged immediate commencement of the project’s executive phases. This will happen after project studies are completed. Work by the Inventory and Compensation Committee also needs to finish. This is expected by next June.
The Director-General stressed the importance of protecting private and public property. He explained that reconstruction requires precise planning. It also needs sufficient time. He emphasized preserving the region’s cultural and historical identity.
