Misrata – The Customs Authority announced a significant seizure. They thwarted an attempt to smuggle nearly half a million euros. This operation took place at Misrata city airport on Tuesday.
The authority provided further details. Customs officers at Misrata Airport cooperated with the airport’s Internal Security Agency. They apprehended a Libyan traveler. This individual intended to fly to Istanbul, Turkey. The traveler had a tightly concealed belt. It contained 490,290 euros.
The Customs Authority reaffirmed its commitment. They pledged to combat all forms of smuggling. They will deter any attempts to violate current laws. The authority will also confront practices harmful to the national economy.
