Benghazi – The General Electricity Company announced on Monday that Germany’s Siemens Energy has begun a major overhaul of the fifth unit at the North Benghazi power station.
The company explained on its Facebook page that this process is part of the long-term maintenance agreement with Siemens Energy to renew production units, aiming to increase the efficiency of the electrical system and enhance generation reliability.
The statement indicated that this work aligns with a comprehensive plan adopted by the company to increase the operational reliability of electric power generation units, ensure the stability of supplies to meet consumer needs, and support the public grid in the long term.
The General Electricity Company affirmed that the maintenance work is being carried out according to approved technical standards and under the supervision of specialized teams, ensuring the achievement of the desired results in terms of performance and service continuity.
This announcement also comes after the third steam unit at the North Benghazi station was connected to the eastern electricity grid, and the arrival of spare parts in preparation for the major overhaul.
