A 24 hour curfew will be imposed for three consecutive days next week, the Libyan government announced on Thursday.
Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, authorized the decision to issue a lockdown on August 7th, 8th and the 9th in an effort to curb the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Libya recorded on Thursday 1,996 new cases of the virus and 28 deaths.
