Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), welcomed on Monday the decision of Tunisia’s President Kais Saied to dismiss the government and freeze parliament.
“We look forward to Tunisia’s rise towards realizing the aspirations of its people for a prosperous future after they eliminated the most important obstacle in the way of its development,” Haftar said.
Haftar also directed the military units on the Libyan-Tunisian borders “to be ready to prevent the infiltration of any terrorist fighters who may flee Tunisia in light of the recent political turmoil.”
